I know that this sorority is getting a whole lot of flack, but I wanted to encourage everyone to stick with it. We ARE a sisterhood. Years ago, we wouldn't have all stuck together on the issue of hair- we would still be forcing it into submission by way of flat iron. I'm proud to say that I'm in this thing with thousands of other like-minded sisters! For years I straightened my hair when it didnt need it at all. I was adverse to any texture that wasnt bone straight until I realized that I wasnt just disliking hair, I was hating a bit of myself. I was made beautifully, and I see that now. Thank you so much for creating this. It may not be a real sorority in that it has actually greek affiliation and all of that , but I am sooo appreciative of it because of how it brought us all together and helped us to realize our self worth. Way to go guys!! I love each and every one of you!

My last relaxer was in May of this year. I'm currently wearing braids and transitioning before doing the big chop. Sometimes I rethink my decision, but then I look at some of my friends and people in the community who rock their natural hair and it encourages me to keep going. It makes me feel empowered to be a part of such a distinct group of females who don't care what society deems appropriate for our hair.
I hope to stick it out and transition for at least a year, which will take me to May 2012, and then go from there to see if I'm ready to do the big chop. Until then I'll most likely be rocking braids, twists, etc.
Much LOVE,
Jordan <3
I've been natural for over a year now my hair grew out great while I had my sew ins but it was so damaged from all the relaxers I just decided to cut it all off and start fresh its still taking some getting used to because weave is just as addictive as relaxing your hair. I've been getting lots of compliments on my cut though just looking forward to it growing out and having a nice kinky fro.
